Five Black Holes by Masuda
Effect: The spectator chooses a card. It is placed on top of the deck and then turned over. The magician shows a black acrylic wallet with 5 holes in the middle of it. He opens the wallet and shows that it is empty. The holes are real, and the magician sticks pencil/other objects through them to prove they are real. The wallet cannot possibly conceal the card because the card would be seen through the holes. At magicians command, as he shakes the wallet, the chosen card visibly flies over into the wallet from the top of the deck. The top card of the deck is turned over and shown to be a different card.
This was my first Masuda trick I got. It is very clever, but it does have a downside.
It is light sensitive, if you perform HOLLOW by Menny Lindenfeld, you will probably perform this.
The gimmick is very, very fragile. However you can keep it safe if you store it correctly.
The effect is impossible looking, but good. The original trick was just to show the wallet from all sides, open it, shake, and have the card appear inside. With the new handling, they get to choose a card and their card flies into the wallet.
The angles for this trick are good.
Make sure to get rid of static electricity from the wallet before performance (explains how in the instructions).
Personally, I don't use this.
7/10
It is OK buy it if you perform HOLLOW all the time then you shouldn't have the problem of light sensitive tricks.
