Don't Cry For The Star by Masuda.
Effect:
The performer takes out a packet of about 10 cards from a card case.
The packet includes a joker. Every card except the joker has a star-shaped hole.
The joker is waved under the hole to prove the hole is real.
The back of the joker is shown.
The joker is placed on top of the packet and the performer casts a spell on it.
He removes the joker to show the hole has disappeared.
The back of the joker is shown again.
The packet is handed out for thorough examination.
This is one of my favourite Masuda's tricks!
This is very good.
The method was not what I was expecting.
You get a card box for the cards, cards (with gimmick) and instructions and also a sheet with a performance using photos.
Everything can be examined at the end.
The angles are very good in my opinion.
The cards are not bicycle back, but if they were people would think, "hmm, I never seen normal Bicycle cards with star shaped holes on them!".
The gimmick is so clever. If you want, while waving the joker under the packet of 16 cards to prove the holes on them are real, you can let a spectator feel the thickness of the cards inside the hole.
The card box supplied is very neat, because you don't have to worry about getting a card wallet or anythign to store the cards in.
You can put the cards into box and carry them around all day.
However the cards are very thin, so they are a bit fragile.
This effect is great.
The effect is great because you can put all the showmanship you want into this effect.
10/10
One of Masuda's best, I totally recommend this trick!
