This is a very well made product which accounts for the high price. I also expect that there are many tricks you could do with this item. But it can NOT be used for close-up magic like I assumed from watching the demonstration video. It is made from a rubber type material that allows it to retain, and return, to its natural shape after being crushed, BUT, it does not sound like a cup when set down on a hard surface or hit against another cup, and it does look different from the paper cups supplied with the trick when viewed up close. If you do tricks with this cup standing more than 7 or 8 feet in front of someone you should be just fine. One other thing. When folded up for concealment it takes a LOT of finger strength to hold it secure so it does not unfold prematurely. I am glad I now own this prop, I just wish it could be used for close up work.
