This is a nice alternative to the Thumb Tip. You can vanish larger things and not worry about the fact that a portion of the population knows about thumb tips.
I tried it today on my wife, who has been watching me do magic for three decades, and she's quite familiar with thumb tips. I fooled her!
I made an Eisenhower Dollar disappear in the Fujiwara DX size gimmick! The instructions that came with it said you can fit a coin up to a half dollar, but I think those were the standard instructions with the standard Fujiwara, not the DX size. Making such a large coin disappear is impressive.
I did not get the instructional DVD so I don't know if the following is on the DVD: My tip is that you should remove your hand quickly and hold your hand so your finger tips are facing the audience, with your hand bent so both finger tips and palm are facing the audience. Also, in this position, slight, casual motion will make this gimmick undetectable. If either the front of back of your hand is facing the audience, many will notice it.
