One regret is that I did not start buying Tenyo when they were originally released, i only started seriously collecting only a few years ago. Here there is a rare opportunity to obtain a sealed release from 40 years ago. How they have survived over the years is a mystery. I was initially surprised by the size of the packaging, Tenyo products are much smaller in recent years. Cigarettes may be out of fashion today but imitation ones are included in the package. Richard Kaufman in Tenyoism suggests using coloured pencils.
Both the base and cover are gimmicked. The gimmicked base is very deceptive. The cover has a secret moving part that requires a simple manipulation but initially I found it stiff to use. Some misdirection is required to cover this action and it can make a little noise. There is also a simple sleight turnover similar to the Chinese Compass. The penetration by a card depicting a buzz saw is very effective. The props cannot be examined.
Here we have the old style Tenyo made in plastic which no belong to a lost era. The recent releases inid
