If you hadn't noticed on the video, the set is custom printed business cards. This is actually a good thing as I have plenty of playing card esp effects and now that I've messed with these, they seem to project a more honest scene. I, like many, have seen and therefore are familiar with playing card effects, so even esp effects on playing card stock isn't unique that much anymore. These are certainly unique in that sense. These look like something a business would have produced as a novelty extra put on their business cards. The routine I came up with run along that line and not so much what's explained in the video tutorial, which is great, I usually end up customizing the routines of purchased magic to fit my personality. I also wanted to eliminate the hands touching phases just because of our current social germ paranoia and temperaments here in the U.S.A.
The method(s) and secrets to the set isn't anything new, but then again when it comes to playing cards and esp effects, what is? The set is well made, so well the cards didn't want to behave when I first took them out of the provided envelope. They stuck together and refused to separate, but only because there's no telling how long they'd been together without any shifting. Once I toyed with them and got them woke up, they handle fine.
My only criticism is one of the secrets (yes, there's more than one) which clues you to the shape's identity is quite small, almost tiny. I wear glasses and there's no way I can see it quickly, (another reason for my routine adjustments) You do have to be fairly close and have good eyesight to glimpse it quickly. If you do, you'll have no trouble. You can see how fast Spooky glimpses it. He must have some amazing eyes. The other secrets to the cards are great. A lot of esp things can be done with the set.
For the price & possible uses, this gets 5 stars.
