Here's a great little pocket magic trick from the wizards at Kreis magic. I performed it yesterday and got great reactions. The girl holding the card was laughing as she pulled it slowly through the metal bolt, stunned that it was happening! A beauty of this illusion is the fact it's not a quick magic moment that happens, instead it happens slowly and the spectator gets to experience it hands on.
The props are precision made, simple in nature yet attractive in usual Kreis fashion. The card is a Bicycle rider back, the plates are tough plastic and the bolt and nut are normal. When assembled the card can be rotated where it's in line with the plates and the whole thing tossed into a front pant or suit pocket without any fear of damage from strolling or casual situations.
The secret is very simple and the trick is easy to do. There's a great little addition to the construction of this prop that allows you to have the card tugged by spectators to feel it is locked on the bolt, yet without any motion the card can be made to penetrate. For example you could have someone see that it's locked on, say a magic word and the card magically penetrate. Many routines are possible.
