This Sven (short for Svengali, as in the Svengali card deck) Pad is high quality, but it is not cheap considering that all you are basically getting is a pad of paper with 50 sheets of paper that alternate between long and short lengths. In reality, anyone with time on their hands could make one of these pads. The Svengali card deck was made of cards that alternated between long and short lengths so that when you ruffled them, depending on the way you did so (front to back or back to front), you would see only the longer cards, or only the shorter cards. It is a marvelously simple principle really, and it still does fool folks, even though the trick has been around for centuries. All you are getting here is a well constructed Svengali pad of paper that you are expected to find a use for. The video feed you are directed to on line (of course) is mostly a sales presentation by the manufacturer. It does direct you to a couple different routines you could use the pad for, but honestly, it is really up to you to figure out what to use it for. Many people make pads like this, and they are cheaper. BUT, I can tell you that this pad is very well thought out, it does NOT look like a magic device: it looks very innocent actually, and it is made from quality paper, so if used somewhat carefully it could be used over and over for mentalism routines where you want to force a specific idea. Be WARNED though. Sharpie brand markers WILL bleed through this paper. The maker recommends you use Bic GEL pens, or pencil, or certain Crayola children's markers to write on the paper. Although a nicely made item I still feel that $25 is too rich a price to pay for it, even if you only have to buy one.
