Each year Tenyo releases a clump of new magic, and each year I buy all of them for my collection. To be honest, most end up in my display case, only to be performed somewhere down the line and that's a maybe. This particular release is a prime example of that. It's clever in its construction and the idea behind it, but really not very practical or reliable where I'll be carrying it around or going to it when requested to do a magic trick or two. The prop and secret to this isn't mechanical in nature, it uses scientific principles of light and optics. As you might have noticed in the video clip, some extra touching and turning of the bowl is often necessary for the illusion to happen. This can hurt the effect. The bowl can be examined, but only with some sleight of hand to add / remove the gimmick(s) from it. With a little thought using a rag to dry the bowl can serve as a great servante for this, but it's still more than what I'm going to mess with. I'm giving this trick '4' stars for it's brand name, the idea behind it, and its good (typical Tenyo) construction.
