I'm giving 'Future Puzzle' 4 stars, not for effect but for the props. The effect in my opinion is 5-stars because in its root form the thought of a puzzle, when put together matches the spectator's freely chosen card, is very strong. The box that is provided however spells gimmickry all over it. It's too big, too odd looking, and cannot be examined. So the effectiveness of the illusion is greatly diminished. The spectators simply think the box had something to do with it and they would be right. That's not a good course for any magic illusion. Now, on the positive side you do get the puzzle pieces needed to do the illusion, and with a little thinking and knowledge of close-up slight of hand, there are several alternatives to the box. I replaced the box with a card case. The generic pieces are already in it, which I rattle by shaking the box, and as I reach in my pocket for my pen and paper I secretly obtain the other necessary pieces which are added during a dump-out, shuttle-pass kind of thing which merges them with the pieces coming out of the case. All is examinable and fair looking. Plus it gives me a better routine to present involving the card case. So for the price I think the puzzle pieces alone are worth it. It really is a brain scratcher. Tenyo just should get away from the cardboard props. I'd spend more if needed for a plastic gimmicked box that could be easily slipped into a pocket.
