Probably the main reason this illusion should be purchased is because it is so well made, not because of the effect. It is an old routine and actually does require some subtle slight of hand to accomplish. It also requires that you have very good eyesight in order to be able to read some special markings. Without my glasses on I would not be able to perform this. I guess that I will never truly understand the thought processes that go on when folks decide how to package and market a trick. Here Viking spared no expense in manufacturing this kit: beautiful wood is used, the craftsmanship is spot on, and the chips are superb. BUT, they give you really shotty directions! Really, the directions are terrible. They are a poor photocopy, and they are for the set that includes pictures on the chips, NOT colors like I have! It took me about 30 minutes to go through the instruction sheet converting picture names (like wavy lines, square, triangle, etc.) to colors! Then I had to modify the written effect and method instructions as well so everything would make sense. This trick would get a five for craftsmanship, but a four for originality, and a two for instructions. I gave them a break and averaged it out to a four. This is best suited for those of you that want to start a collection of quality items.
