Magic Wagon makes no qualms that their 'Absconding Lycan' is based on Mr. Edward Massey's Ribbon Fantastique' to the point they mention it up front. It basically is 'Ribbon Fantastique' in a more 'Fantastique' way however. Sorry, I couldn't resist.
As one would expect from Magic Wagon, the workmanship is amazing and the piece is striking and attention getting. This isn't simply a plastic magic trick, it's a showpiece you'll bring out for your guests when the moment beckons. Even though it can be transported easily in a briefcase or similar item, it's not suitable for body clothing. It's larger in size and heavy for casual carry. But, neither is 'Ribbon Fantastique'. Both tricks require a table and audience sitting in front or mostly in front and if you find an original 'Ribbon Fantastique' at an auction site they run close to $200. I always wanted a prop that uses this method because I think it's a baffling trick and considering 'The Absconding Lycan' is just a little bit more than the plastic versions current prices I decided to take the plunge. It also looks great in my display case.
Magic Wagon makes some great magic and is highly sought after once sold out because they'll never do a remake, or so I've been told.
