Another novel pocket illusion from Tenyo. It is very well made and the components fit and work as they should which is always nice. The illusion of the die penetrating the metal plate under the elastic cloth is quite believable from a short distance away, BUT you do have to watch your side angles. It is best to do this with folks straight in front of you. If you notice the demonstration video it zooms in on the effect during the penetration. Doing that obscures what is actually happening on the sides of the trick.
Another thing. I do not believe all of the components of this trick are immediately examinable by the audience as is indicated by the sales video: especially the plastic frame. The elastic cloth works very well with this trick, BUT, I question just how much use it will hold up to. It may become a problem if you do this over and over.
Lastly, there is a design issue that puzzles me. There are several slotted plastic screw heads on the plastic frame. One of the 'screws' has to be turned during performance of the trick which puts its slot in a vertical orientation relative to the horizontal position of all the others around it. It is noticeable: the first person I did this for picked up on it!! If TENYO ever re-issues this trick they should use a cross pattern on the screw heads (like a Philips screw driver head). That way, when the special screw is turned no one will be able to tell and it will stay a secret!! Just a thought.
The price is great for this trick and it is definitely worth buying though. Enjoy.
