As far as wood puzzles go this is a nice one but nothing exceptional. It took me about 5 minutes to figure out how to open it, with OUT looking at the instructions. There are instructions that tell you how to use this device as a trick in a short routine, but it seemed somewhat contrived. I definitely would not call this a trick: it is more of a puzzle.
Although it is not mentioned in the instructions, it is very important that you put a coin into the 'safe' before giving it to anyone to figure out: having something rattle around helps obscure noises made by assembly components. The puzzle is nicely made out of hardwood and brass screws. For someone who collects unusual puzzles this would be a nice addition, especially at the reduced price.
