John Kennedy's contribution to fire magic is a practical and useful method for seemingly plucking a flame off a lighter and entertaining with it. There are no body hookups or complicated setup and is easy to use. It can be tossed into a pocket and will always be ready to go at a moment's notice and used over and over and over, etc. The flame can burn for a long time if desired without any discomfort or danger risk. For the gimmick and creative thought behind it I give it 5 stars.
Now for what's not mentioned in the video demo nor magic site, and I don't feel I'm crossing the line in this review by mentioning because I'm a fellow magician and know how we want to play with our new magic toys immediately, or should be able to anyhow or at least be forewarned at the place of purchase. You're going to need a 'Mini Bic' lighter (sold pretty much everywhere) to fuel the gimmick and a needle nose tool to do a little surgery on it. Telling you this, you should have an understanding or idea at least as to how practical and reliable this method really is that couldn't be done with a lighter alone. The gimmick (very well made and will last forever) converts it into a very clever and safe fire gimmick that requires hardly no care whatsoever and is worth the cost. It is an extremely practical and smart idea. Another advantage of this method is that the flame will almost always match that of the borrowed lighter perfectly so the illusion of a single solitary flame is strong and convincing. Not many other fire gimmicks can guarantee this.
Because of the lack of mentioning other requirements necessary and now forcing me to drive to the store and spend a little more money before I can enjoy and play with it I'm knocking it back by one star. The gimmick however is highly recommended.
