This thing really works!! I admit, after I purchased it I was VERY reluctant to completely unfold it in order to do the flip flop from hand to hand to see if it would completely refold itself. After 3 weeks I unfolded it and tried it out. It worked like a charm. It Really did!! I have made these origami cranes out of paper before and they are quite complicated to construct. To have one create itself out of cloth really is amazing. It did not come with any directions, but the nice folks at SEO told me what to do: unfold it completely, then just throw it back and forth between your two hands about half a dozen times and VOILA the bird assembles itself (exactly like in the video)!!
I have a hard time calling this a magic trick though. When you unfold it you end up holding a very wrinkled piece of cloth that seems to be desperately trying NOT to stay flat. The special cloth does want to fold itself. It does amaze folks though when it does end up as a folded crane. There is no way anyone could imagine what it could possibly be while you are holding it in your hands in the flat state.
It has to be stored flat in its folded state while not being used. It is a fun, unusual gimmick that really does what it is supposed to do! I think the price is reasonable. It appears to be made out of a special fabric that obviously has some very mysterious characteristics!!
