Foreign coins can give magic an entirely different aura because of their uncommon appearances and uniqueness and Chinese coins are the greatest example of this. They are truly the most different than any other coin anywhere in the world or as far as I've ever seen. To the Chinese they are simply currency but to everyone else (especially here in the U.S.A.) they are little pieces of art with their hole through the center and the Chinese inscriptions on the sides. If I were to remove a quarter, dime, and penny from my pocket people may want to see what I'm going to do with them. If I remove three Chinese coins of different colors people will want to see what the coins are going to do. In other words they've taken the magic beyond me and into themselves.This makes Chinese coin magic in general a great thing to possess in your arsenal of close-up wonders and 'Chinese Coin Vision' by Joker Magic is pretty much all anyone will need. It's a great set of gimmicked and ungimmicked Chinese coins that are well made and matte finished in red, white, and black to give them a very nice semi-aged look.
The set comes with three ungimmicked coins, one of each color, so they can be examined by the spectator until the cows come home. They can be introduced at the beginning as well for initial examination and the necessary ones switched out with the gimmick pieces by common coin moves if you happen to know some. The gimmicks are a double colored coin and a shell that alone can be shown in two colors and works great. You may already be coming up with thoughts of what's possible with this set beyond the routine that comes with the coins (dvd) and also shown on the promotional video. You can, for example, simply use two of them for a simple 'Scotch and Soda' routine or use the two gimmicks for an eye blistering 'Spellbound' routine. The possibilities are endless.
'Chinese Coin Vision' by Joker Magic is a great purchase and well worth the price. Highly recommended.
