(Basic Effect)
Have audience choose one card from deck of cards.
Ask audience to remember the card and return it to the deck.
Now, the magician divides the deck into 4 piles and tells them that one of the top cards of these piles is the card you chose.
To find the chosen card, he retrieves the light bulb and handkerchief. He wraps the light bulb in the handkerchief and asks audience to take the handkerchief and hold it over the piles of cards.
Nothing happens with the light bulb when the piles do not include your card. Only when the audience gets to the pile that includes your card does the ghostly bulb glow with light.
Finally, the magician explains that the light bulb is connected with an "invisible cord". When you cut the "invisible cord" with the scissors, the ghostly light goes out.
