(Development Story)
This item was conceived while looking at numerous pop-up books; we wondered if it would be possible to transfer the pop-up principle to a box. Initially, only three cards from the entire deck were removed, and the spectator was asked to remember one of those cards. The thought-of card was then made to rise out of the box. Later, Toru Suzuki came up with the concept of showing a 12-card packet, and allowing a completely free choice of the cards. In its present form, this trick will fool almost every magician who sees it.
