Have a spectator hold a prediction you made in an envelope. He picks a card, for example, the 5 of spade. Have him pull the card out of the envelope to reveal: The Jack of Spade! Oops.
However, have him turn the card face down to reveal that you had a back up prediction: The 3 of Clubs, written by a sharpie. Once again, this is not the correct card.
Since you are a magician, take the card in your hand and shake it a little bit: the written 3 of clubs magically and visually transforms into the selected card, the 5 of spades.
