Red x Blue = Purple...?? The Color-Changing Deck on Steroids...

The magician removes a red-backed deck from its case.
He says to the spectator, "In a moment you will select a card. You can choose any card except the joker, because I will use that for later." He displays the joker, then deals it aside.
Next, he shuffles the deck, until the spectator says "stop." The spectator takes the stopped-at card and looks at it. The performer concentrates, then correctly names the chosen card.
"Would you like to know how I did that?" asks the magician. Of course, the spectator says yes. The performer explains, "It was easy, because you took the only blue-backed card." The chosen card is turned over, and now its back is blue.
The performer continues, "Actually, if I wish I can make the entire deck turn blue." He makes a magical gesture, then turns the deck face down and spreads the cards to show that they are now blue.
To finish, he makes a magic gesture toward the tabled joker. When it is turned over, its back has also changed to blue.
The blue deck is put back inside the red case. Then the magician says, "Well, this is a problem. The deck and the case do not match. So, I'll combine the colors." He slaps the case, and it instantly turns purple.
The deck is removed from the case, and spread, to show that all of the backs have also turned purple!
